Why buy plastic when you can have the real thing? We sell not only through our Marbela consultants at hosted Jewelry Parties but also online. Each pearl and gemstone is unique so no two jewelry pieces are 100% alike at Marbela. Marbela represents that feeling you get when you can escape to an island paradise, spoil yourself, and feel good inside and out.
Marbela History
I never thought I would actually own some real pearl earrings. On my wedding day, my mom had bought me a nice pair or artificial earrings and a strand of nice plastic pearls, but never in my dreams did I think someday I would be able to wear such beautiful creations of nature and be able to share them with so many others.
After being married a few years and living in Asia, my husband and I took a trip to Hong Kong. Knowing that this may be my chance, I coaxed my husband into a jewelry store. The prices seemed more reasonable than in the US, and my husband and I agreed on a pair of simple white earrings, for around $100. I was extremely happy with my purchase and although no one may have known they were real, I did, and they were a treasure to me.
After a month of wearing them (every day!), one earring disappeared and I was devastated. I didn’t want to tell my husband, embarrassed at my carelessness. After tearing our small apartment apart, I was determined to find a way to get another matching pearl earring, even if I had to go straight to the source to get them--- especially before my husband found out! After educating myself on everything about pearls, I searched all over Asia for the best quality and lowest priced pearls.
Little did I know that journey would bring me to a remote Pearl Farm in the middle of the Pacific!
From Hobby To Passion
I was able to purchase some beautiful earrings, much more beautiful than my original earrings, at less than half the cost! Because of my newly found treasure, I immediately wanted to share these pearls with everyone I knew. I began buying earrings, strands and wonderful gifts for friends and family. I was very popular at Christmas time!
This hobby quickly turned into a passion and a thriving business. Starting this business from scratch and sharing these wonderful pearls has given me more joy than owning my first pair of real pearl earrings. I now have plenty of earrings, and if I lose one, I can always pull out another.
But more than anything, I love to hear the words from a client or friend: “I never thought I would own a strand of real pearls! These are so beautiful!” Or: “I can’t believe these pearls are real! You really outdid yourself! Thank you!” Those expressions of excitement and joy are more valuable to me than all the pearls in my jewelry box.
From these beginnings with pearl jewelry, I have been fortunate to find and sample many other types of jewelry beyond pearls alone. And now my friend Alicia has joined me on this amazing journey. We both know that jewelry can make women all over the world feel stylish and beautiful.
What started out as a lost earring has now become Marbela, a company dedicated to bringing high quality, yet affordable jewelry to women throughout the world.
And that is our mission: To make women everywhere feel beautiful.
